Jack Friedman has been at the forefront of the exclusive jewellery industry since 1933. Jack Friedman Jewellers was established by the late Jack Friedman in 1933. Today the third generation continues the proud tradition.


The business today is still in the loving hands of the original family. Jack’s grandson Howard continues the highest standard of craftsmanship and design taught to them by his grandfather. Jack Friedman arrived in South Africa by boat in 1928 at the age of 20 from his home in Riga, Latvia. He arrived penniless, but he had the jewellery and watch making skills taught to him by his father, and over time built one of the most reputable companies in South Africa. Jack Friedman Jewellers always had its own factory where the design and manufacturing take place under the watchful eye of Howard. Jack Created many collections that are still sold today. Lorna – Jack’s eldest daughter, who was responsible for building Jack Friedman into successful brand. Lorna was famous for her creativity and talent for design.
