At Hyun’s Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do & Self Defense School, we strive to make classes fun and engaging, both for the body and the mind. Martial arts is what you make of it, whether it’s to lose weight, get in shape, learn something new, meet new people, continue your traditional training or just as a stress release. It’s perfect for both men and women, and we believe women need more self defense than men. It’s also for children as young as five, or seniors into their 70s. We teach practical self defense techniques, incorporating simple theories and hands on training.

Hapkido is wonderful for adults, from beginners to experienced martial artists. Hapkido looks like Karate, Aikido, and Judo mixed. Truly it is the traditional Mixed Martial Art. We teach police and security, and they have to learn to control and immobilize first, strike second. For civilians, it’s the opposite – learn to strike first, then as confidence grows, control instead.
