The local Johorean, Mr. Timothy Leong Kwok Whye who born in the year 1983 is the 3rd generation for the home recipe kuey teow soup “Yong Hwa Kuey Teow” in Johor, also the founder and the recent immediate owner currently operating the mee house at Taman Perling, Johor Bahru.


Mr. Timothy’s grandfather, Mr. Leong Choon Woon was the 1st generation reached South Malaysia in 1930s then began his very first mobile wooden food stall travelling with lovely wife from gardens to gardens selling their home recipe mee since year 1950s at Kampung Baru Stulang Laut also known ‘Xing Kam Pang’ for years. Untill end of 1960s when local authority regret hawker stall subsequently Mr. Leong forced to moved into a small shop lot at Jalan Ah Siang continue his food career named “Yong Hwa” till end of 1970s.


While the 2nd generation Mr. Desmond Leong See Weng (1956-2013), Timothy’s father who stepped into the industry since kids helping parents, established his first mee stall in the food court at Taman Sri Tebrau, Johor Bahru with wife further expose their ‘Yong Hwa’ emphasising in kuey teow soup recipe been generation passed on to him from year 1978 reached about year 2000. Later on moved into ‘Yong Xiang Kopitiam’ at Taman Perling in year 2001 afterwards take over by 3rd generation Timothy in 2007 operating untill 2010.


Timothy Leong who with age of 31 years old currently, touched the industry too since his teenagers helping father in their food stall initially been generation passed on recipe in 2007, after 2010 operating his own food stall in the ‘E-Corner Cafe’ for only half a year serving their home recipe kuey teow soup. Then together with father Desmond Leong successfully established their very first specialize shop at Taman Perling (current mee house) in the year 2011 officially named “Yong Hwa Kuey Teow” with pattern branding.


In this restaurant or specislize mee house, their three generation homemade recipe Kuey Teow Soup will be the must try top recommended in menu. Soup base keep boiling for the whole day with giant bones and five home recipe ingredients brings the exotic taste serving in bowl with keoy teow, fresh fish ball, meat ball, pork livers, pork minced, fresh pork slice and seafood taufu topped with deep fried pork oil cube presenting the malaysiabest food in town. Secondly most wanted by their regulars will be the fresh fish slice topped on rice porridge called Teo Chew Fish Slice Porridge also the signature choice in the restaurant. Moreover, their Pork Kidney Mee Sua too the favourite by visitors which not easily found in town with best eatery soup base insided with fresh pork kidney mixed with tradition chinese mee named ‘Mee Sua’ will never regret after taste. Others, their fresh Fish Ball Tong Fun also been recommended when stepped into the “Yong Hwa Kuey Teow” mee house at Taman Perling, Johor Bahru.
