My name is Alessandro Zagni and I’m a freelancer with a passion for American cars and for the tv show Knight Rider.
Since I was a child I’ve always dreamed about owning KITT, and as soon as I was able to afford it I’ve bought it, I patiently restored and replicated it, externally and internally.

Over the years I have bought for my dashboard some electronics from different vendors hoping to get better and better functionality, to get closer to what I thought was needed; but the electronics purchased (all perfectly working) were always missing "something" to make them "perfect" for my desires, for my standards.
The idea to start manufacturing electronics similar to what you can find now on daily cars was born from the lack of a product that could match my desires, remind me of the scheduled tune ups, inform me about the real coolant temperature value, oil and fuel levels, of the lights that are originally on the car and that, in most cases with the electronics I had, were lost or not correctly interpreted.
Then in the night time the LEDs that are equipped on the actual electronics dazzled me, and the countdown was reflected on the windshield: this is, in my opinion, quite annoying.
So the ideal electronics for me have had to give the chance, as on today's cars (and the original dashboard of the car itself), to dim and regulate the brightness when the lights of the car are on.
And that's what happens with this set. If the running lights of the car are on, the instrument panel is dimmed and the countdown is switched off. No annoying reflection on the windshield. Everything is automatic. Just set the desired brightness.
And so it began my dream... to manufacture some electronics that would reflect the needs of a user, like me, without distorting them. The design and testing of these electronics have taken more than a year during which everything happened, unexpected defeats and victories that helped me to believe even more in this project.

Mi chiamo Alessandro Zagni, sono un libero professionista con la passione per le auto americane e per la serie televisiva Supercar.
Fin da piccolo ho sempre sognato di poter avere KITT, ed appena ho potuto permettermelo l’ho acquistata, pazientemente restaurata e replicata, esternamente ed internamente.   


Negli anni ho acquistato elettroniche per il mio cruscotto da diversi fornitori sperando di migliorare sempre di più le funzionalità, di avvicinarmi a ciò che ritenevo indispensabile; ma alle elettroniche acquistate (tutte perfettamente funzionanti) mancava sempre “qualcosa” per renderle “perfette” per le mie esigenze, per il mio standard. 

Dalla mancanza di un prodotto che soddisfacesse le mie esigenze è nata l’idea, di produrre un’elettronica simile a quella che si trova ora sulle macchine di tutti i giorni, che mi ricordasse dei tagliandi, mi informasse sui reali valori della temperatura dell’acqua, dell’olio, del carburante, delle spie che ci sono originariamente nell’auto e che, nella maggior parte dei casi con le elettroniche avute, venivano perse, o non correttamente interpretate.
Di sera poi, i led che equipaggiavano le elettroniche ad oggi avute, mi abbagliavano ed il count down si rifletteva nel parabrezza; ciò, a mio avviso era, ed è, parecchio fastidioso. 
Quindi l’elettronica per me ideale, doveva avere anche la possibilità come sulle auto di oggi (e sul cruscotto originale della macchina stessa) di abbassare e regolare la luminosità quando venivano accese le luci dell’auto.Ed è ciò che accede con questo set. 
Se le luci dell’auto si accendono, quelle del cruscotto si abbassano ed il count down si spegne. Nessun riflesso fastidioso nel parabrezza. 
Tutto avviene in automatico. Basta impostare l’intensità desiderata.E così è iniziato il mio sogno... produrre un’elettronica che rispecchiasse le esigenze di un utilizzatore, come me, senza snaturarla. La progettazione ed i test dell’elettronica sono durati oltre un anno in cui è successo di tutto, imprevisti, sconfitte e vittorie che mi hanno aiutato a credere ancora di piu in questo progetto.
