Our name comes from the volcano Vesuvius, the main source of our inspiration located in Naples, the city where we grew up in the South of Italy, until moving to England in 1997.


Alessandro opened Vesuvius Restaurant in Maidstone in 2012 and has dedicated the last 10 years to bringing to Kent the most delicious and authentic bits of Italian cuisine, with the help of Chef Luca and his team. 


Most of our recipes are family’s favourites! Recipes that ‘Mamma Maria used to make’ for us at home and which we grew up with. Our high qualified chefs recreate these slow-cooked, home-made dishes, conveying their sense of history, culture and provenance.


Our fish and seafood are delivered fresh daily and our quotidian visits to local butchers and grocers enable us to offer the freshest ingredients and the freshest flavours to our clients. We have fixed price party menus available if you are celebrating with friends or family and a fixed price lunchtime menu and takeaway food, if you are in a hurry.
