ABOUT ME
I came to accounting through a slightly circuitous path. I started out in the marketing department of Canada’s largest hot tub manufacturer. I decided to go back to school to get my degree, enrolled in my first accounting course, and quickly discovered my passion. Since then, I have had the pleasure of nerding out on all things accounting in pursuit of my designation and then working as a manager in a great accounting firm. 
 
I worked with a variety of clients across various industries. It was an amazing experience, but once my daughter came along I found the demands of public practice challenging. I decided to try my hand in a controller position. My goal was to find a better work/life balance while expanding my skill set. After seeing accounting from both of these perspectives, I realized that the way forward was to set out on my own. Now I can help smaller companies in need of a bookkeeper/controller while providing the tax services of a firm. As a result of this shift, Mitty Financial Services was born.
