Stephen and Deborah opened their Nambour practice in 1999 followed by Maleny Optical in 2007. Their extensive combined experience in the optical industry extends over more than 40 years.

They are passionate about Optometry and offer comprehensive eye examinations to ensure the ongoing eye health of their patients.

The practice stocks the latest fashion brands of unique designer eyewear and sunglasses for clients wanting individuality and choice.  There is an emphasis on using quality lenses with the latest technology designs and coatings available to ensure optimal vision correction and lens coatings that will last.

The practice offers bulk billing to Medicare for most consultations. HiCaps claiming to Health Funds is available. The practice has offered digital retinal photography for over 10 years at no cost to patients and is the one of the few practices on the Sunshine Coast that has Ocular Coherence Tomography technology for detailed retinal and macular examination. This service assists with the early detection of Diabetic retinopathy, Macula Degeneration and Glaucoma.

Stephen has completed the Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics.  This further qualification allows us to provide an improved standard of care and easier community access to primary eye care at a lower cost.
